Verite Le Desir 2014 i trækasse

"99 points. 2014 Le Desir is monumental stuff that has a Château Ausone-like character that’s hard to describe" - Jeb Dunnuck

"This is another massively concentrated wine meant for the long haul (and for our grandchildren)" - Robert Parker

"Marking the 50th year of Pierre Seillan’s cultivation of Cabernet Franc, the precision of this wine is matched only by its elegance. A bouquet of blackberries, rose petals and Herbes de Provence unite in the iron-rich minerality that is the varietal’s birthright. Perfectly cultivated fruit – harvested by micro-cru and masterfully blended – produces an intensely structured, long-lasting wine." - Vérité Wines

Anmeldelser af Verite Le Desir 2014

99/100 Jeb Dunnuck
"A blend of 53% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Malbec, the 2014 Le Desir is monumental stuff that has a Château Ausone-like character that’s hard to describe. its vibrant purple color is followed by a to-die-for bouquet of blackcurrants, black raspberries, cedar, tobacco leaf, and charcoal. This gives way to a concentrated, rich, yet incredibly delineated wine that has fine, fine tannin, notable freshness and purity, and a great finish. While blockbuster stuff, it’s for consumers with cold cellars and lots of patience. I’d hide bottles for 7-8 years and it’s going to keep for another 3+ decades."

99/100 Vert de Vin Magazine
"The nose is elegant, fruity, powerful, aromatic, voluptuous, dynamic and offers a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as freshness. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis, fleshy / juicy plum and small notes of wild strawberry associated with small touches of small wild berries, volcanic minerality, spices as well as discreet hints of flowers, Sichuan pepper, caramelization and very discreet hints of juicy black fruit. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, very slight tight, melodious and offers a beautiful definition, a very slight tension, a beautiful finesse of the grain, a small dynamism, a beautiful suavity, a very slight freshness, a racy minerality as well as a very beautiful finesse of the texture. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of crushed raspberry, crushed plum associated with small touches of chocolate / cocoa, caramelization, toasted almond as well as discreet hints of sweet spices, discreet toasted hints, very discreet hints of blond tobacco (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of flowers (violet, blueberry) in the background. Tannins are fine, elegant and very slightly firm. Good length. Beautiful and gourmand persistence. There is a discreet hint of hazelnut on the persistence."

99/100 Tastingbook.com

98/100 Robert Parker
”The 2014 Le Désir (53% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec) has an inky purple color and a sweet kiss of chocolate, black truffle, forest floor, black raspberry and black currants. Opulent, but again structured and super-dense and pure, this is another massively concentrated wine meant for the long haul (and for our grandchildren). Give it 4-6 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 35-40 years. Remarkably, Pierre Seillan told me that 2014, while a drought year, was not actually that hot in the micro-terroirs he was working, but in terms of quality, it turned out to be the most surprisingly positive vintage he’s ever witnessed.”

97/100 James Suckling
"This is a solid and structured cabernet franc that is compacted and whole. Lots of blackberry and blueberry character. Orange undertones. Long and flavorful finish. Fantastic tannin structure and freshness with balance."

97/100 Vinous
"The 2014 Le Désir is the most inward of these 2014s from Vérité. Dark raspberry jam, wild flowers, spice, pencil shavings, mocha, lavender and licorice infuse this deep, powerful, structured Cabernet Franc-based blend. The interplay of dense, sumptuous fruit and aromatic freshness makes for an absolutely compelling wine."
