Couvent des Jacobins Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2020 ØKO i trækasse

“95 points. I like the cool freshness at the end. Best yet? ” – James Suckling
"This is easily the finest vintage of Couvent des Jacobins produced yet.” – Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
“There is a ton of flavour”- Decanter

95-96/100 Bernard Burtschy

95/100 James Suckling
“Dark chocolate, bark, dried flowers, cherries, walnuts, crushed stones and orange zest on the nose. Graphite, too. Textured, mineral and expansive with a full body and firm, chalky tannins. Broad yet focused. I like the cool freshness at the end. Best yet? From organically grown grapes.”

93-95/100 Y. Casating, Anthocyanes

94/100 Vert de Vin
” The nose is elegant, delicate and offers a lovely finesse of grain, depth (finesse), finesse, good definition of fruit. It reveals notes of boysenberry, fresh/juicy strawberry and small notes of blackcurrant associated with touches of cherry blossoms, small pulpy fruits as well as fine hints of sweet spices, toasted notes, vanilla. and a very discreet hint of almond. The palate is fruity, balanced, full of finesse and offers a juicy/mineral structure, finesse, gourmandise, a little airy side in the approach, balance, delicacy, precision, freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh strawberry, fresh blackcurrant and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of small fresh/crunchy red fruits, lily, cherry blossoms, limestone as well as hints of sweet spices, with discreet hints of sense of place (Mediterranean barrier), tonka bean, mocha, fresh/sweet blond tobacco and a very discreet hint of clove.”

94/100 The Wine Independent

93/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
"Smoke, oak, espresso, and chocolate-covered plums are at the core of this wine. Supple in texture, with layers of silky, fresh, sweet black cherries and chocolate, this is going to be delicious on release, and it has the stuff to age as well. This is easily the finest vintage of Couvent des Jacobins produced yet."

93/100 Robert Parker
“The 2020 Couvent des Jacobins bursts with aromas of minty blackberries, plums, incense and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming palate that's framed by powdery tannins. A gourmand, seamless wine, this will offer a broad drinking window”

93/100 Tastingbook.com

93/100 Markus Del Monego MW

93/100 Falstaff
"Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle ocher edge lightening. There are nuances of ripe plums, blackberry jam, fine nuances of precious wood, candied orange zest, some nougat caramel and vanilla. Juicy, elegant, fine fruit sweetness, ripe tannins, mineral and firm finish, lingers well, a food companion with aging potential."

92/100 Decanter
“This takes a severe tone for the opening beats, a little austere with tannins standing to attention, but there is a ton of flavour as it opens, with cocoa beans and cigar box, black pepper spice and a creamy cassis and raspberry fruit through the mid palate. A yield of 32hl/ha. Organic certified as of this vintage. Tasted twice.

92/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“A meaty, beefy, spicy wine based on 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2020 Couvent Des Jacobins offers up plenty of savory red and blue fruits to go with medium-bodied richness, good mid-palate density, building tannins, and rock-solid length on the finish. While it’s savory and slightly evolved aromatically, I love its purity and freshness on the palate, and my money is on this easily being an outstanding wine once bottled.”
