Der var mange, der undrede sig, da Francois Pinault, ejeren af Château Latour, valgte at købe Chateau Siaurac tilbage i 2014. En mand med så mange midler kunne let købe et mere prestigefyldt sted i Pomerol, men sagen er den, at Château Siaurac er et guddommeligt terroir i Lalande de Pomerol. Alle 45 hektar ligger i et sammenhængende stykke og siden ejerovertagelsen af Francois Pinault er vindyrkningen blevet omlagt til 100 % økologi og biodynamik.

Château Siaurac var allerede et velkørende og succesfuldt slot før salget til Francois Pinault, men man kan roligt konstatere, at kvaliteten og omdømmet siden da er blevet styrket helt enormt!

92-93/100 James Suckling A juicy and fruity wine with blackberries, blueberries and chocolate. Full and round tannins with a bright finish. 74% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 6% malbec.

92/100 Jane Anson Liliting fresh acidities on the opening beats here, sweet blackberry fruits, supple tannins, this is highly charged with chocolate and red liqourice, lifted by floral aromatics. Biodynamic, owned by the same group as Château Calon Ségur but has been split off in this vintage, still overseen by Penelope Godefroy but not by Vincent Millet.

91-93/100 Antonio Galloni "The 2022 Siaurac is elegant, nuanced and super-classy. Crushed red berry fruit, flowers, chalk, blood orange, rose petal and white pepper are beautifully lifted. I am so impressed with the wine’s freshness and translucent finesse. This is the first vintage for Siaurac under the management of the Calon-Segur team. It is one of the sleepers of the year. The blend is 76% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. Drinking window : 2025-2034"

The wine is medium-bodied, and spicy in the mouth, with lift, and energy in the firm-textured finish. The wine is a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec. Drink from 2026-2035."
