Cru Classé i St-Julien, er vinene fra Château Saint Pierre fløjet en anelse under radaren. Det skyldes måske, at slottet blev solgt i bidder og først samlet igen i 1981 af Alfred Martin, faderen til slottet nuværende ejer.</p> <p>I dag begynder vinene herfra til gengæld at få den anerkendelse de fortjener, hvilket særligt skyldes stjerne-winemakeren i kælderen, Remi di Constanzo, der tidligere har lavet vine for 2. The blend is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, aging for around 14 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. It's going to need time to integrate its oak, but the purity of fruit, quality of the tannins, and balance are all spot on. It is one of my early favorites in this vintage, within its peer group.
