Pierre Lurtons eget vinslot… Château Marjosse er den vildeste supervalue fra Bordeaux-ikonet bag 1. Cru Classé Chateau d’Yquem og den mest ikoniske St-Émilion-rødvin, Cheval Blanc! Pierre Lurton har siden 1991 været ansvarlig for en række af Cheval Blancs mest legendariske årgange, men han lægger mindst lige så meget kærlighed i sin Château Marjosse… Det er nemlig her på slottet, halvvejs mellem Bordeaux of Saint-Émilion, han bor. Da området ikke er kendt for kostbar Grand Cru Classé, må Pierre sælge sin Grand Vin alt, alt for billigt i forhold til topkvaliteten…

Beplantningstætheden på vinskråningerne er øget, hvilket giver mørk powerfrugt med op mod 15% alkohol. Vinkælderens faciliteter er totalrenoverede. Druerne håndhøstes og vinificeres parcel-for-parcel, og de næstbedste druer bruges i andenvinen Boisset la Chapelle. Kun de bedste parcellers bedste druer finder vej til topvinen Château Marjosse, som Pierre giver 25 dages macerationstid og forkæler 12 måneder på de fineste franske egetræsfade, heraf 50% helt nye.

Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly knit with fine-grained tannins and bold freshness supporting the nuanced black and red fruits, finishing long and minerally."
