16 måneder lang kældermodning på 25% helt nye barriquefade...  Ja, silkebløde og elegante La Réserve de Malartic leverer andenvin med en ambitiøsitet og et anmeldertække, hvor meget få Grand Cru Classé-slotte kan følge trop.

I superåret 2019 skabt på 56% Merlot , 39% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet-Franc og 2% Petit-Verdot som håndhøstes fra bæredygtigt certificerede grusmarker i Pessac-Léognan. Kort sagt en rød bordeaux med smoothness, mineralsk finesse og fadkrydret ekstravagance på et uhørt højt niveau til prisen.

Det er gået stærkt siden 1997, da Graves Cru Classé slottet Malartic-Lagravière blev købt af den belgiske forretningsmand Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie. Med lommer så dybe som markernes grus (sine steder op til 8 meter!) har Bonnie på få år skærpet Malartic-Lagravière fra blød, forsømt mellemvare til en af Pessac-Léognans skarpeste stjerner.

Høstudbyttet er sænket, faciliteterne renoveret og ambitiøse fagfolk tilknyttet – fx. den ønologiske konsulent Michel Rolland. Som resultat har vinene nu mere sul på kroppen, mere koncentration og samtidig mere finesse. I mange år var hvidvinen Malartic-Lagravières stolthed, men nu scorer også ”le Rouge” op til 96 point hos de store anmeldere.
