Château Gazin Pomerol 2022 i trækasse

Om Château Gazin Pomerol

Grand Vin: Chateau Gazin Pomerol
2. Vin: L’Hospitalet de Gazin
Beliggenhed: Pomerol

96-97/100 Andrew Caillard
Deep crimson. Perfumed violet, musky plum, mocha, roasted chestnut aromas. Classically proprotioned wine with beuatifuly ripe and expressive dark plum, blackcurrant fruits, fine dense chalky tannins, superb mid palate volume and well integrated savoury, roasted chestnut notes. Lovely buoynacy, richness and mineral torque. A must buy wine. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a fresh and persistent finish.

95/100 Bettane & Desseauve

94-96/100 The Wine Cellar Insider
Finesse in style, at its core, the wine is all about its spice, milk-chocolate, plum, cherry, espresso and wet earth character. Long, silky, fresh, refined, and plummy, the mid-palate, and finish remain focused on its layers of silky fruits from start to finish. The wine blends 93% Merlot, 3.5% Cabernet Franc and 3.5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2025-2045.

94/100 Decanter
Supple and energetic, this has a lovely dynamism and purity straight away, clean and clear, tangy but tannic so you get brightness and power. It's on the more tannic side right now, filling and upfront, but they have a nice texture and weight and the fruit intensity really carries the liveliness all the way through - picked just ripe, or just before, I think. Nicely accessible and a softer more approachable style from Gazin. A little atypical and the better for it. A yield of 26hl/ha. Tasted twice.

94/100 Jane Anson
A serious Pomerol even in the lightest of vintages, so it really can relax into its natural character in 2022. Strict tannins, but that is often the case for this wine, relaxing into liqourice, cocoa bean, espresso, rosemary, underbrush, slightly drying on the finish, but this has a ton of impact, it has all the elements for ageing, an impressive wine.

94/100 Falstaff
Deep dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate rim brightening. Ripe red cherries, some nougat, delicate herbs and figs. Taut, red fruit nuances, integrated tannins, mineral, firm body, long lasting, strawberries in the aftertaste, fresh food companion with certain future ageing potential.

92-94/100 The Wine Independent
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Gazin bursts with energetic note of wild blueberries, black raspberries, and plum preserves, leading to nuances of violets and star anise. The full-bodied palate has impressive harmony, with velvety tannins and just enough freshness to match the generous fruit, finishing long and fragrant.

92-94/100 Robert Parker
Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, licorice, cherries and spices, the 2022 Gazin is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with excellent depth at the core, sweet tannins and a long, expansive finish. Despite the drought, the vineyards performed better in 2022 than in 2020 at this address, and the result is one of the better vintages for Gazin in recent years.

92-94/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Lots of spiced black cherries, currants, chocolate, and spicy notes emerge from the 2022 Château Gazin, a richer, medium to full-bodied Pomerol with plenty of mid-palate depth, building tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins will need to be watched here, but this is clearly an outstanding wine in the making.
