Chateau Fonplégade St-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2020 ØKO i trækasse

”This is great stuff, a brilliant example of St-Emilion limestone. A buy!” – Decanter

“Gorgeous…” – Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

“A very long powerful finish” – Tasted

“Concentrated, rich, yet elegant…” – Jeff Leve

“This is beautifully done.” – Antonio Galloni

“From a gorgeous terroir on the Côte Pavie.” – Jeb Dunnuck

96-97/100 Bernard Burtschy

95-97/100 La Revue du Vin de France

95-96/100 Bettane & Desseauve

95/100 Decanter
“Beautiful aromatics, vibrant, full of clarity and bright fruit delivery. Plum, blueberry, bursting with juicy life. Keeps delivering on the palate also, sprightly and vibrant, and soaked in limestone, wet stone personality. This has a mix of fresh, vibrant floral aromatics, with peony and raspberry leaf, set against concentrated plush damson plum and raspberry fruits with a kick of wet stone minerality. It reveals notes of wild blackcurrant, fleshy blackberry and more slightly strawberry associated with touches of cherry, violet as well as hints of pulpy berries as well as fine hints of gray spices and with a very discreet hint of tea. On the palate it is fruity, discreetly tight and offers smoothness, a fine creaminess, gourmandize, a nice definition as well as finesse, precision and concentration. This wine expresses notes of juicy / fresh blackcurrant, juicy / fresh blackberry and more slightly fleshy / juicy purple plum associated with touches of raspberry, plum blossom, lily as well as hints of bean. tonka, mocha, blond tobacco as well as a subtle hint of toast and good bitterness (in the background). Good length.”

94/100 James Suckling
“Attractive aromas of ripe black and blue fruit with crushed violets, walnut and dark chocolate. Some dried leaves, too. Medium- to full-bodied with a plush and supple palate that offers an array of ripe, racy tannins and a crunchy, deep berry character. Structured and focused with a juicy finish.”

94/100 Vinous
“The 2020 Fonplégade is elegant, gracious and lifted, just as it was from barrel. Bright acids lend notable energy in this silky, nuanced Saint-Émilion. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, mint and blood orange are all woven together in this very pretty, alluring Saint-Émilion. This is beautifully done.”

94/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“Utterly classic notes of red and black cherries, chocolate, tobacco, and spicy wood emerge from the 2020 Château Fonplégade, a medium-bodied, pure, balanced, elegant Saint-Emilion that comes from a gorgeous terroir on the Côte Pavie. Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that was raised in 50% new oak, it has building tannins, a layered, mouth-filling texture, and outstanding length. Give bottles 2-4 years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 10-15. It's a complex, satisfying, impeccably made 2020.”

94/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
“The showy nose wants your attention due to its essence of flowers, minerals, licorice, mint leaf, and red fruits. On the palate, the wine is silky, fresh, and vibrant. Concentrated, rich, yet elegant, and light on its feet, this is a refined wine with finesse, length, and purity which is not afraid to offer its oceanic influences along with all of its layers of perfectly ripe, red, and black fruits. This will age effortlessly for two decades or more, but you can also enjoy it in its youth, if you are like me, and can't wait to see what it's all about.”

94/100 Markus Del Monego MW

Château Fonplégade

Grand Vin: Château Fonplégade, Grand Cru Classé (St-Émilion)
2. Vin: Fleur de Fonplegade
Beliggenhed: St-Émilion
Beplantet areal: 18,5 ha (økologisk certificeret i 2013, biodynamisk certificeret i 2020)
Plantede druesorter: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
Fadmodning: ca. 18 mdr., 50% ny barrique samt moderne betonæg
