91-93/100 Vinous "The 2020 Clos René is very intense, almost backward on the nose of blackberry, bilberry, crushed violet and truffle aromas, and even a little blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, grippy tannins and a bold, dense midpalate. I cannot recall a Clos René as structured as this latest release. Quite peppery toward the finish, which leaves behind a long, tobacco-tinged aftertaste. This is an excellent Clos René but it should be afforded several years’ cellaring once in bottle."
