”93 points. If you like elegant, perfectly balanced wines, you've come to the right place. Terrific.” – Vinum

“The 2009 is the finest Chasse Spleen since the 1989” – Robert Parker

"The wine has a superb sparkle and a beautiful explosive fruitiness, the 7% of Petit Verdots that go into the final blend bring a lot of energy to the whole. We find the immediate charm and the tasty side that make the success of Chasse-Spleen. It is already delicious."

90-93/100 Wine Spectator
”Subtle aromas of currant, spices and milk chocolate follow through to a full body, with a solid and polished core of tannins and a silky-textured finish.”

90-92/100 Robert Parker
”The 2009 is the finest Chasse Spleen since the 1989. Its deep purple color is accompanied by notes of graphite, black currants, sweet spice, and a hint of Chinese black tea. Full-bodied and opulent with wellintegrated acidity, tannin, wood, and alcohol, it is a lush beauty to enjoy over the next 20+ years. (Tasted two times.) Drink 2010-2030.”

91/100 Neal Martin, Vinous
”The 2009 Chasse-Spleen has a simple, earthy bouquet, a little dustiness at first although that soon dissipates with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly soft tannin on the entry, moderate depth, well-judged acidity with a sandalwood and tobacco infused finish that has a spring in its step. A very fine for Chasse-Spleen, although not my personal favourite vintage. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.”

17/20 Jancis Robinson
” 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Transparent, shaded garnet. Round and ripe yet with good freshness. I'm tasting this straight from the cellar and it has responded well to a serving temperature of 13 °C. Very refreshing, well-balanced wine in which the tannins have receded, leaving quite a complex, minerally amalgam of mature fruit without a hint of dryness. I suspect the serving temperature has elevated this particular bottle above that tasted in October 2022.”
