100/100 André Brattland, botti.no "Fantastisk aromabilde som virkelig forfører. Stram, allikevel så frisk. Slank, allikevel så tilstedeværende. Virkelig super-sexy og bløt rødbærsfrukt, pirrende røyk og gode salter. Et lynskarpt anslag fører frukten til en umiddelbar vektløs tilstand. Lineær er en underdrivelse. Superkonsentrerte fabelaktige røde bær, fantastiske dype salter og søt karamell. Lang, og her kommer det som hever vinen på øverste hylle - så fabelaktig frisk på den lange og nydelige utgangen. Vinen er virkelig energifull og leken! Dette er vin som for årgangen kan drikke tidligere, og mellom 15-25 år vil dette kanskje ha optimal utvikling. Allikevel - dette var - er - og blir 100 poeng!"

Medium to full-bodied, the palate is completely filled with expressive, perfumed black berry layers accented by lively red fruits and exotic spices, supported by impressively fine-grained tannins and fantastic tension, finishing very long with jaw-dropping energy ... Château Canon er toppen af Saint-Émilion. Klassificeret ”Premier Grand Cru Classé (B)”, og i fysisk forstand beliggende øverst oppe på St-Émilions berømte kalkstensplateau.

Familien Wertheimer fra New York føjede i 1996 Ch. Canon til sin portefølje med bl.a. modehuset House of Chanel samt Ch. Rauzan-Ségla i Margaux. Den dynamiske direktør John Kolasa, headhuntet fra selveste Château Latour, fik hurtigt sat vinmarker og vineri på stjernekurs.

Kolosa lod sig pensionere i 2015. Som en nærmest symbolsk, trefoldig afskedssalut var Ch. Canon i samme årgang helt oppe at ramme 100/100 point hos Suckling, Vinous og Parker!

At dømme efter fabelagtige 2016 har afløser Nicolas Audebert ikke tænkt sig at hvile på laurbærbladene.
